Accessibility Statement

Parkinson's Pathways serves patients, families, and caregivers — many of whom may have motor, visual, or cognitive challenges. Making this site usable by as many people as possible is a core responsibility.

Our Commitment

We target conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). This means we aim to ensure all interactive controls are reachable by keyboard alone, provide sufficient color contrast, label all form inputs and icons for screen readers, use semantic HTML, and allow text to be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality.

Current Status

Parkinson's Pathways is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Most core flows — browsing trials, reading summaries, using the trial matcher, managing saved trials — have been reviewed for keyboard accessibility and screen reader compatibility. We do not yet have a full third-party audit against the complete WCAG 2.1 AA criterion set.

Known Limitations

The "Trials Near Me" map uses Leaflet and is not fully keyboard- or screen-reader-navigable; all trial data visible on the map is also available in the accessible list view below it. Focus management on some dropdown components and overlays may not be fully compliant. Dynamic content updates (search result counts) may not always be announced automatically by assistive technologies.
