## Brief Summary

Impaired social cognition and cognitive control associated with borderline personality disorder (BPD) remain less explored. Recent Franco-Canadian study, has shown the feasibility of a neuroimaging tests in Quebec adolescents with BPD. This study aims to increase knowledgements related to neural correlates of BPD and clinical disorders.

## Eligibility

- **Minimum age:** 12 Years
- **Maximum age:** 17 Years
- **Sex:** FEMALE
- **Healthy Volunteers:** Yes

Inclusion Criteria:

* Female adolescents meeting DIB-R criteria for BPD group
* Female adolescents meeting kSADS-PL for ADHD group
* Female adolescents without any psychologic disorders

Exclusion Criteria:

* Any medical history with head trauma, chronic neurologic disease, any contraindications for fRMI, claustrophobia or pregnancy.

## Arms

- **Healthy adolescent girl volunteers** (OTHER) — The participants will follow the same study plan
- **Adolescent girls with borderline personality disorder** (OTHER) — The participants will follow the same study plan
- **Adolescent girls with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder** (OTHER) — The participants will follow the same study plan

## Interventions

- **functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)** (DIAGNOSTIC_TEST) — Investigators used fMRI to compare patterns of regional brain activation between three groups of adolescents girls: Six female adolescents meeting criteria for BPD, 6 female adolescents meeting criteria of ADHD and 6 female adolescents without psychiatric disorder were recruited.

## Primary Outcomes

- **MRI-Acquired Activation Mapping** _(time frame: 2 years)_ — Establishment of activation maps by statistical analysis of local signal variations to locate functional regions essential to motor skills and language.
