Data is aggregated daily from ClinicalTrials.gov and the EU Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS). Only trials currently recruiting are counted. Trials flagged for oversight concerns are excluded. "Year" is the trial's start year, so earlier years thin over time as completed trials drop off the recruiting list. A trial running in several countries is counted once per country, so country percentages sum to more than 100%.
