# What Do the Different Statuses Mean on a Parkinson's Clinical Trial Listing?

If you've ever searched for Parkinson's clinical trials on ClinicalTrials.gov, you've probably noticed that every listing comes with a status. Recruiting. Completed. Terminated.

## Recruiting

This means the trial is actively looking for participants and you may be able to apply. For families, Recruiting is your green light to take the next step.

## Not Yet Recruiting

The trial has been approved and registered but hasn't started enrolling participants yet. These are worth bookmarking.

## Active, Not Recruiting

The study is still running and current participants are still being followed, but enrollment is closed.

## Completed

The trial has finished. All participants have been through the study and data collection is done.

## Terminated

The trial ended before it was supposed to. This can happen for a few different reasons including safety concerns or funding issues.

## Withdrawn

Similar to Terminated, but the trial was stopped before a single participant was enrolled.

## Enrolling by Invitation

The trial is recruiting, but only specific patients are being invited to participate. Ask your neurologist if you see this status.

## A Simple Way to Remember It

- Recruiting, Open, apply now
- Not Yet Recruiting, Coming soon, worth bookmarking
- Active, Not Recruiting, Still running, but closed
- Completed, Finished
- Terminated, Ended early
- Withdrawn, Never started
- Enrolling by Invitation, Ask your neurologist
