The goal is to map familial and possible genetic forms of Parkinson's in Chinese patients, so researchers can better understand inherited risk, symptom patterns, and possible targets for diagnosis or treatment. They are building a registry by enrolling people with Parkinson's who have affected first or second degree relatives or whose parents are closely related, and they will collect detailed clinical information and family histories over time to spot inherited patterns. Anyone with a clinical diagnosis of Parkinson's who meets those family-history criteria, can give informed consent, and of any age or sex may join, with a target enrollment of about 1,500 people.
