# Predict treatment response from genetics

**Goal (in five words):** Predict treatment response from genetics

**Official Title:** The Chinese Parkinson's Disease With SNCA Variants Registry

**Trial ID:** [NCT03523052](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT03523052)

## Key Facts

- **Status:** RECRUITING
- **Study Type:** OBSERVATIONAL
- **Sponsor:** Xiangya Hospital of Central South University
- **Target Enrollment:** 3000 participants
- **Start Date:** 2017-02-01
- **Completion Date:** 2027-02-01
- **Conditions:** Parkinson Disease

## Summary For Families

The registry aims to learn how variants in the SNCA gene, which affects alpha-synuclein, change Parkinson's symptoms, speed of progression, and responses to treatment so doctors can better predict outcomes and design targeted care or trials. It follows up to 3,000 people, collecting detailed clinical, genetic, and treatment data over time, including how symptoms evolve and how patients respond to standard therapies like levodopa. People of any age or sex who meet standard Parkinson's diagnostic criteria, such as the UK Brain Bank criteria, and who test positive for an SNCA variant are eligible, and because this is observational it does not change your current treatment.

## Eligibility

- **Sex:** ALL

### Full Criteria
