- Sponsor
- Chang Gung University
- Study Type
- INTERVENTIONAL
- Enrollment
- 90 participants
- Conditions
- Parkinson Disease(PD)
- Interventions
- AR training with gait and HRV feedback
Plain-Language Summary
Goal: to find out whether using an augmented reality walking program that also gives heart rate variability feedback can improve gait, reduce anxiety that disrupts walking, and change brain connectivity in people with Parkinson's. Approach: participants walk with AR visual cues that guide step length and timing while real-time HRV is shown to monitor and help manage autonomic arousal, so therapists and participants can adjust pace or relaxation; this is a non-drug training meant to complement usual Parkinson's medications. Eligibility: adults aged 20 and up with a clinical diagnosis of Parkinson's are being recruited, along with healthy volunteers for comparison, while people with leg musculoskeletal injuries, osteoporosis, or other peripheral or central nervous system disorders are excluded.
Locations
- Chang Gung University, Taoyuan District, Taiwan
