# Improve balance through arm function

**Goal (in five words):** Improve balance through arm function

**Official Title:** Investigation of the Relationship Between Upper Extremity Function and Balance and Functional Mobility in Parkinson's Disease

**Trial ID:** [NCT06591975](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT06591975)

## Key Facts

- **Status:** RECRUITING
- **Study Type:** OBSERVATIONAL
- **Sponsor:** Gazi University
- **Target Enrollment:** 26 participants
- **Start Date:** 2024-11-15
- **Completion Date:** 2024-12-15
- **Conditions:** Parkinson Disease

## Summary For Families

The goal is to find out whether problems with the arms and hands are linked to worse balance and mobility in people with Parkinson's, which could help target rehab and fall prevention. Participants will have their upper extremity function measured, things like hand dexterity, strength, and coordination, alongside standard balance and walking tests to look for patterns and relationships. Researchers are looking for adults 18 to 80 with a specialist diagnosis of Parkinson's in Hoehn and Yahr stages 1 to 3, a Standardized Mini-Mental Test score over 24, and no vision, hearing, perceptual, upper-limb orthopedic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, or hormonal conditions.

## Eligibility

- **Minimum age:** 18 Years
- **Maximum age:** 80 Years
- **Sex:** ALL
