Aquatic HIIT with adherence/support package

Plain-Language Summary

The goal is to improve balance, overall physical function, and age-related muscle loss, which together can lower fall risk and help people with moderate Parkinson's stay more independent. The approach is supervised high-intensity interval training done in a pool, where buoyancy reduces joint stress while short, intense bursts of effort build strength, power, and muscle mass; the program also includes a support package to boost adherence and is meant to complement Parkinson's medications rather than replace them. Eligible participants are adults 55 to 75 with Parkinson's at Hoehn and Yahr stages 2 to 3 who have measurable balance problems and sarcopenia, have their doctor's OK, and do not have recent major cardiac events or unstable medical conditions.
