Advanced Parkinson's brings its own research questions: managing complex symptoms, improving drug delivery, and refining device-based treatments such as deep brain stimulation. Plenty of active studies focus on exactly this stage.
The studies on this page either state a disease-severity range covering the later stages, usually Hoehn and Yahr stage 3 and above, or involve deep brain stimulation, which is generally considered at this stage. Some device studies enroll people who already have an implant or are planning surgery; we flag that on results so you know before reaching out.
