# Clinical Trials for Freezing of Gait

Freezing of gait is the sudden, brief feeling that your feet are stuck to the floor, often when starting to walk, turning, or passing through a doorway. It is one of the symptoms that responds least well to standard Parkinson's medications, and it is a major cause of falls.

Trials in this area test cueing devices that prompt stepping, exercise and physical therapy programs, and medications targeting pathways beyond dopamine. Some are observational studies tracking how freezing changes over time.
