# Clinical Trials for OFF Time and Motor Fluctuations

OFF time is when Parkinson's medication wears off before the next dose and symptoms return. Over the years the window of good control can narrow, and some people experience unpredictable swings between ON and OFF that are hard to manage with timing alone.

Trials here test new medications, longer-lasting or steadier levodopa formulations, on-demand rescue treatments for sudden OFF episodes, and devices that deliver medication more consistently.
